Doctors and Staff

Dr. Daniel Slovis graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in January of 2002. Following graduation, he entered an internship at Southwest Equine Medical and Surgical Center, a leading referral hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona.

After completion of his internship, Dr. Slovis began practicing in the Central Virginia area. After a few years, he decided to follow his true passion of small animal veterinary care. His professional interests include internal medicine, ultrasound, surgery, dentistry, chiropractic care, and wellness care.

During the winter of 2010, Dr. Slovis decided to follow the dream of owning a high-quality veterinary hospital. He found that there was a need for a high-quality veterinary hospital in the Lake Anna region, and decided to make this the location of his state-of-the-art hospital.

During his spare time, he enjoys riding his horses, hiking in the mountains and scenic photography with his wife, Kristine and his son, Gilbert.

Dr Keller joined Lake Anna Veterinary Hospital in 2019 after working in the Richmond area prior.

Her interests include internal medicine and enjoys practicing cat friendly procedures at a “Cat friendly practice.”

Dr. Stansberry earned her veterinary degree at the VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and her MPH at the University of Iowa. She has practiced in dairy, mixed animal, and small animal practices.

She and her husband live on a farm with cows, chickens, and a cat.

Dr Sara Vaughan Wyant joins our Lake Anna team as a central Va native. Originally from Lynchburg, she completed her DVM degree in 1998 at the VMCVM in Blacksburg. She then practiced emergency medicine for the next 20 something years, owning the only 24/7 emergency and critical care hospital in Charlottesville. Having completed an internship in emergency and critical care medicine, Dr Sara still enjoys the challenge of emergency care while caring for her general practice patients with the same compassion.

Semi-retired now, she enjoys her Lake life with her husband John, a local musician and Army veteran.

Sara and John enjoy sharing their lives with one handsome Boxer named Major and their three self proclaimed Feline rulers- Queen Emma and the two Princes, Oliver and Simon.

Tiffany is our Practice Manager and Licensed Veterinary Technician who has been with us since 2012. She was born and raised in Spotsylvania and went to Northern Virginia Community College to get her degree in Applied Science.

She enjoys spending time with her husband, son and daughter and their dogs. In her free time, she enjoys being on the water, camping and cooking out.

D’Anne is one of our great Licensed Veterinary Technicians that has been with us since 2013. D’Anne loves good music and having a great time no matter where she is. She has one dog, Hershey, and one cat, Harry Hood (who of course is the light of her life!). In her free time, you can catch her on the lake or anywhere there is a lively crowd.

Jene joined Lake Anna Veterinary Hospital in 2020, having graduated from Northern Virginia Community College’s Veterinary Technician Program in 2014. Now living in Louisa, she shares her home with two dogs, two cats, a red-eared slider turtle as well as bantam chickens and call ducks. Her most recent addition is an adopted Thoroughbred from the Equine Welfare Society.

A 2006 graduate of VCU’s School of Mass Communications, her interests include photography and outdoor activities.

Brooke is one of our dedicated Licensed Veterinary Technicians who graduated from Blue Ridge Community College in 2016. She enjoys family time with her two children and husband, three Labrador Retrievers, and their horses. They spend time going on nature walks and letting their dogs swim in the neighborhood lake.

Miranda is one of our hard-working Licensed Veterinary Technicians. She has been with us since 2016 working as an assistant at first, but with a lot of hard work and dedication she graduated from Northern Virginia Community College with a degree in Applied Science to become a Licensed Technician. She has one dog, a Hound named Penny, six chickens and two ducks. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending time with her husband, son, and daughter.

Sarah has been in veterinary medicine since 2008. She attended Blue Ridge Community College while working emergency in northern Virginia until graduating in Spring 2019.

In her off time, she is an avid hunter and enjoys hiking and camping with her family and Pomeranian mix, Pew.

Jenna is one of our Licensed Veterinary Technicians. Her love of animals began at an early age, and she could always be found around one of her four-legged friends. This led her to pursuing a career that allowed her to show her care and compassion in a way that could help in a meaningful way. While working in the veterinary field, she graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Health and was licensed in 2017.

When she is not helping animals, she loves spending time with her husband Kenny, their dog Callie, and their three-legged cat Franklin. In her free time, Jenna enjoys traveling, gardening, hiking, and being on the water. She also has a love of crafts ranging from painting to torn paper collage.

Ashlee is one of our wonderful assistants that has been with us since 2011. She worked in emergency medicine before coming to General Practice. In her free time, Ashlee loves doing yoga, hiking and spending time with her many chickens. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and their three dogs- Maude, Hattie, and Jethro, along with her cats- Fritz and Tool.

Abby is one of our helpful Veterinary Assistants who joined the Lake Anna Veterinary Hospital team in 2021. She is currently in school to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician.

She has had a love for animals since a very young age. In her free time, she enjoys spending time in the mountains with her family. She also enjoys spending time with her four crazy dogs.

Devin has been in the veterinary field for 5 years.

In her free time she love to hang out with her family, friends, 4 dogs, 5 cats and 2 guinea pigs.

Eve joined the full-time Lake Anna Community in 2015 after visiting on weekends for over 20 years. Eve worked as a licensed veterinary technician in her 20’s and after taking time to raise her three children has returned to the veterinary field in a different role.

She lives at the lake with her husband, Kevin and enjoys boating, spending time outside in the garden with her two dogs and playing with her two grandchildren.

Ashleigh is one of our helpful Client Service Representatives. She has lived in Louisa her whole life and graduated from Louisa County High School. She has been an animal lover all her life and spent most of her life with her grandparents on their farm.

She enjoys riding horses and playing with her two dogs. She also spends most of her free time with her son.

Robin is a fresh face at the Lake Anna Veterinary Hospital front desk. Originally from Northern Virginia, Robin brings with her over three years of experience in the veterinary field and a lifetime of love for all animals.

Robin was recently married and has two Pit bulls, Dozer and Mosby. She has enjoyed the privilege of relocating to the Lake Anna community. Grateful for the warm welcome she has received, she looks forward to serving the practice and community with the highest level of service and commitment to all our two and four-legged clients.
